Како и секоја година, на 3 Декември 2009 година на Филозофскиот факултет при Универзитетот „Св. Кирил и Методиј“ во организација на Институтот за дефектологија беше одржана свеченост по повод одбележувањето на меѓународниот ден на лицата со инвалидност.
Свеченоста беше отворена од страна на деканот на Филозофскиот факултет проф. д-р Горан Ајдински, на која присуствуваа и претставници од високи државни институции, меѓу кои со свое излагање присутните ги поздравија: претседателот на Собранието на Р. Македонија г-дин Трајко Велјановски, министерот за труд и социјална политика    г-дин Џељаљ Бајрами, ректорот на Универзитетот „Св. Кирил и Методиј“ проф. д-р Велимир Стојковски. Меѓу присутните на свеченоста беа продеканите на Филозофскиот факултет доц. д-р Никола Жежов и доц. д-р Тони Милески, професори од сите институти на факултетот, студенти и претставници од различни институции за лица со инвалидност во Р. Македонија како и инвалидни лица.
Програмата беше збогатена со доделувањето на наградата за најдобар студент на генерацијата 2004–2008, која ја доби студентката Благица Станоевска, и со изведбите на учениците од посебното основно училиште „Маца Овчарова“ од Велес.
3 Декември, како меѓународен ден на лицата со инвалидност, беше одбележан и од страна на Сојузите на инвалидни лица во Р. Македонија во просториите на Домот на хуманитарни организации „Даре Џамбаз“ и од Републичкиот центар за поддршка на лица со интелектуална попреченост (ПОРАКА).

On December 3, 2009, the Faculty of Philosophy from the University of St. Cyril and Methodius for the Institute of Special Education and Rehabilitation held the annual ceremony for the “International Day of Persons with Disabilities.”
The ceremony was opened by the Dean of Faculty of Philosophy, Dr. Goran Ajdinski, PhD. Representatives from high national institutions were in attendance. Guests were honored with speeches from the President of the Macedonian Parliament Mr. Trajko Slavevski, the Minister for Labor and Social Politics Mr. Dzheljalj Bajrami, and the rector of the University of St. Cyril and Methodius Dr. Velimir Stojkovski, PhD. Among those in attendance were the Vice-Dean’s Assistant, Professor Nikola Zhezhov, Assistant Professor Toni Milevski, professors from all institutes of the faculty, students and representatives from different institutions for people with disabilities in the Republic of Macedonia, and finally, people with disabilities.   
The ceremony was enriched with the presentation of the 2004-2008 “Best Student Award,” presented to student Blagica Stanoevska, along with the student performance put on by the special primary school “Maca Ovcharova” from Veles. 
Lastly, the third of December was designated as the “International Day of Persons with Disabilities” by the Associations of the Disabled Persons of the Republic of Macedonia from the humanitarian organization “Dare Dzhambaz” and by the Republic Center for Supporting Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (MESSAGE-PORAKA).
